Although you can use America Online (AOL) to establish a connection to the Internet, we
recommend that you do not use the AOL browser to access The Schneider Training
Institute Learning Center. The AOL browser does not support some of the advanced
features required by the Schneider Electric Customer Learning Center. If AOL
is your Internet Service Provider (ISP), you can use the AOL browser to download
Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer, and then use one of these browsers to access
SyberWorks.
If you use AOL as your ISP to access the Schneider Electric Customer Training Learning
Center or download a new browser, remember that AOL displays a prompt every 45 minutes,
asking if you want to stay connected. If you don't respond to this prompt within 10
minutes, AOL drops your connection, even if you're using the connection at the time.
You should look for this prompt every few minutes to avoid being disconnected from the
Internet prematurely.

To print a lesson, click anywhere in the part (or frame) of the browser window that
contains the lesson content, then select File, Print from the browser's menu bar. This
prints all of the text and graphics that appear in that frame. If the lesson contains
any secondary windows, you must open those windows individually and select File, Print
from each window's menu bar. If the Topic Menu indicates that the lesson is divided
into sections, you must print each section separately.
Although you can print a lesson, you should still use the on-line version for the
questions, active images, animations, audio, video, workshop exercises, and testing.

To listen to the audio portions of some courses, you need to have a sound card and
speakers. The audio is played with a SyberWorks Java applet, so no plug-in software is
required. If you do not want to listen to the audio, simply mute your speakers.

When you push a button, The Schneider Training Institute Learning Center often displays
a new window, called a secondary window, to show you some additional information. The
secondary window appears on top of your original window. You can interact with the
secondary window, then close it to return to your original window and pick up where you
left off.
Some browsers (most notably certain versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer) do not
always place the secondary window on top of the original window. As a result, when you
push a button, the secondary window may be hidden behind your original window. If your
original window is too large, you may not see the secondary window hiding behind it.
If you push a button and nothing appears to happen, try minimizing your original
window. This should allow you to see the secondary window. Alternatively, if you're
using Windows 95/98, an icon for the secondary window should appear on the Task bar.
Click on the icon to bring the secondary window to the top.
Also, Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or above is needed to launch PDF files.
Please be sure Adobe Acrobat Reader is loaded on your computer.
